Thomas & Libowitz Assists Retired Baltimore Colts
February 16, 2007

Remember former Baltimore Colt John Mackey, Hall of Fame tight end and one-time president of the NFL Player's Association? As a likely result of a football related injury, Mackey is suffering from frontotemporal dementia, a disease similar in its devastation to Alzheimer's. He now requires constant care and the costs are staggering. John Mackey is not the only former NFL player in this position.

Seeing this need and others like it, a group of retired Baltimore Colts decided to create, with the help of Steven A. Thomas, Esquire & Charles B. Jones, Esquire, a non-profit organization called the Baltimore Football Club, Inc. Officially, the organization was formed for a variety of charitable reasons including: sponsorship of youth athletics, health and safety education and helping to meet the acute, immediate and temporary needs of destitute retired NFL players.

The Baltimore Football Club, Inc., which is still in its infancy and is looking for grants and other funding sources to achieve its charitable purposes. For more information about the Baltimore Football Club, Inc., you may contact Bruce Laird at (410) 530-8696, or write him c/o Multi-Specialty Healthcare, 540 East Belvedere Avenue, Suite 200, Baltimore, Maryland 21212.
