Frank Laws to Speak at FLSA and Sexual Harassment Law Seminar Sponsored by ADP

On November 15, 2006, Frank Laws, Chair of the firm's Labor and Employment Law section, will be speaking at a seminar sponsored by ADP on issues related to the Fair Labor Standards Act and sexual harassment. In the last few years, employers have found themselves liable for jury verdicts in the hundreds of millions for violations of overtime provisions of the FLSA. As recently as this week, a Pennsylvania jury returned a verdict against a major retailer for wage violations where the award could reach $160,000,000. Likewise, and again this week, a Connecticut company was ordered to pay $1,500,000 for sexual harassment committed by one of its managers. Mr. Laws will be offering practical, ?how to,? advice on establishing processes and procedures to avoid such devastating pitfalls.
