Thomas & Libowitz Welcomes Gregory Alan Dorsey as Senior Litigator
May 6, 2009

We are pleased and proud to announce the addition of Gregory Alan Dorsey as a Member of Thomas & Libowitz, P.A.

Greg has been Practicing law since 1996. He is a graduate of the University of Maryland, Eastern Shore (Bachelor of Science, Computer Science, 1990) and received his legal education at the University of Baltimore School of Law (Juris Doctor, 1996). Before practicing law full-time, Greg worked in the technology industry at General Electric Information Services and CDA Investment Technologies, was also instrumental in the establishment of CyberAge Technologies, and consulted with law firms, non-profits, and for-profit businesses, providing technology solutions for various needs and issues.

Following his admission to the Maryland Bar in 1996, Greg decided to transition into the practice of law by joining a litigation boutique in Carroll County and quickly became the attorney of choice for many of the firm's clients. In 2002, Greg opened his own law office in Carroll County, hired three associates, and successfully developed a strong, viable, and multidisciplinary practice.

While Greg has developed a significant transactional practice, he has been (and is) primarily a litigator. Greg's primary focus at Thomas & Libowitz will be as a senior litigator (handing complex commercial litigation and intellectual property dispute resolution), but he will still oversee the transition of certain aspects of his existing transactional practice to those attorneys at the firm primarily engaged in such disciplines.

Greg is a member of the Carroll County Bar Association, Maryland State Bar Association (Sections on Technology, Business, and Real Estate), American Bar Association, and the Association of Trial Lawyers of America. He is admitted to practice law in Maryland ('96) and the United States District Court for the District of Maryland ('97). He has served on The Courts Judicial Nominating Commission, District Eight for Carroll County, since 1999, and as Honorary Chairman of the Business Advisory Council of the National Republican Congressional Committee. Greg also serves as a Court Facilitator/Mediator in the District Court of Maryland for Carroll County, and as a Settlement Officer in the Circuit Court for Carroll County, Maryland, where he is assigned to resolve contract and business disputes, real estate issues, and auto tort and other negligence matters.

Greg grew up (and still lives with his wife and three children) in Carroll County, is active in the community, and (consistent with the firm's community involvement policy), he has been a member of Community Foundation of Carroll County Board of Directors and the Carroll County Youth Services Bureau Board of Directors.

We are excited about Greg joining Thomas & Libowitz. He brings with him energy, experience, leadership, and an entrepreneurial spirit. Greg is another top tier addition to our firm and is further evidence of our continued commitment to excellence and continuity.
